Note 1(Marakanava) Or Chrissoveloni. M-Y. Sugdury says the family changed the spelling of its name from Chryssoveloni to Chrissoveloni – unlikely at this date!
Note 2Left Chios in 1822, apparently by swimming into the sea and being picked up by a British frigate and taken to Syros.
Note 3From Syros he went to Constantinople and then in 1848 established a subsidiary in Galati/Galatz of his Constantinople company, by the name of ‘Chrissoveloni Fils - maison d'exportation et de banques’.
