Note 1Her father seems to have been called ‘Cordeux’ (unclear) and she had a brother James. She was first married to William Thorpe (m. 1716) with whom she had a Mary and an Elizabeth.

Note 2She was Elizabeth Thorpe when she married John Sanderson. She later married (1741) William Staveley.

Note 3“A William Cordeux was born 1729 at Normanby Yorkshire, died 01 Feb 1736 - his mother being Sarah Dawson (b. Normanby 1708) and his father John Cordeux (b. Normanby 1708).”

Note 4“A William Cordeux was born 1698 at Bossall, Yorkshire, England, died 1761, York, England, his father being a William Cordeux. He married Averil Everell Bell (b. 1706).”

Note 5“A Frances Cordeux (maiden or married name?) was born 1780 at Bossall, York, England, died ?, her father being John Cordeux (b. 1740). Frances had a daughter Hannah Wilkinson (1904-1882).”
