Note 1(Pitsis) A Mr Ralli, Greek consul in Liverpool, owned the Brynbella estate in Wales (ca. 1858-1900) and Mia Hall, Trelawnyd – presumably Michael Ralli was this man – a member of A&M Ralli (Cotton Brokers) was a consul (see Grove Directory 1888).
Note 2He is presumably the Michael Ralli who successfully defended himself against a case of breach of promise brought by Miss Artie Colebrooke, a Liverpool actress.
Note 3He met her in 1869 when she was 20 or 21 and they lived together for about 5 years. He claimed that an irate old uncle had opposed any marriage to a poor English girl.
Note 4She brought the action against him shortly after he married Polymnia Ralli.
