Note 2We don’t know if he had children. If he had children no record of them appears to have survived and they probably died, or were killed by the Turks in the 1822 Chios Massacres, or vanished into the slave markets of Asia Minor.
Note 3Presumably the person cited in the Journal de Paris (Sep 1822) as a victim of the Chios massacres (where he is called Haggi J. Petrocochino).
