Note 1Governor of Wallachia (Sep-Oct 1730, Oct 1731 - Apr 1733, Nov 1735 - Sep 1741, Jul 1744 - Apr 1748, Feb 1756 - Aug 1758, Jun 1761 - Mar 1763). Governor of Moldavia (Apr 1733 - Nov 1735, Sep 1741 - Jul 1743, Apr 1748 - Aug 1749, Jun-Sep 1769).
Note 2Encyclopaedia Britannica (1911): Succeeded his father as Hospidar (Prince) of Wallachia. Deprived in the same year, he again ruled from 1735-41 and from 1744-48. Prince of Moldavia from 1741-44 and 1748-49.
Note 3He was wounded and taken prisoner in the affair of Galati during the Russo-Turkish war 5 Nov 1769 and died in captivity. Presumably the Constantine Mavrocordato who abolished ‘servitude’ (slavery or serfdom?) in 1740.
Note 4He appears on the left side of the ca. 1725 painting depicting his father Nicolaos and his third wife Smaragda.
